KETTLE VALLEY STEAM RAILWAY SUMMERLAND
Ever wonder what it’s like to ride on a genuine steam train? The 3716 is Summerland’s very own restored 1912 steam locomotive, which offers you an opportunity to step back in time while experiencing the glory of a bygone era. The 90-minute round trip stops at the famous Trout Creek trestle, which soars over 230 feet above the canyon floor. Enjoy views of Summerland’s orchards and vineyards. Listen to the historical commentary while taking in the stunning lake views. The Kettle Valley Steam Railway recreates the feeling of another time.
The Kettle Valley Steam Railway also offers a variety of special events, including the Great Train Robbery and Barbeque, a fun experience for the whole family. And don’t forget to stop by during the holiday season. There’s a particular magic that comes with seeing a steam train lit up with sparkling lights. Other unique events include Mother’s Day and Easter trains which are definitely worth a visit.
